Compact fluorescent lamps have for ages had to contend with the preconception that they take too long to shine brightly. This statement does not apply to OSRAM compact fluorescent lamps, featuring the patented Quickstart technology. A quick-start function enables these quick starters, when switched on, to generate twice as much light as normal energy-saving lamps. Stiftung Warentest tested it in January 2006 and confirmed that it reaches its full luminous flux in a short space of time.
